Not so average
Register golf writer Joe Morelli, a.k.a. Average Joe, fared well with his three picks to win the Travelers Championship after the opening round.
Justin Rose (tied for fifth place) finished 5-under-par 70. Kenny Perry (tied for 11th place) finished 4 under and Rod Pampling finished 2 over.
Other notes…
Johnson Wagner finished with three eagles to force a three-way tie for first place, along with Steve Lowery and Brian Davis. The trio shot 6-under-par 70. Brad Adamonis is also at 6-under through 15 holes.
